Youth empowerment. Athletics. Mentorship. Community investment. Four pillars that continue to guide Skechers across its partnerships and initiatives, and ones that were on full display last week during Philadelphia 76ers forward Jabari Walker’s visit to Frankford High School in Philadelphia.

Walker partnered with Skechers and national nonprofit AdoptAClassroom.org to present a $25,000 donation to Frankford High School, supporting athletics and STEM programming. Along with the surprise assembly to nearly 900 students and donation—which will help expand opportunities for students through $15,000 dedicated to sports programs and $10,000 supporting STEM initiatives—, Walker also connected directly with students to share his journey to the NBA and encourage them to pursue their goals through hard work, discipline, teamwork, and perseverance.
The event did not stop there. Following the assembly, both of Frankford’s basketball teams had the opportunity to connect further with Walker through a dedicated student-athlete Q&A session and also received Skechers Basketball footwear.
